The NBA, where amazing happens. The Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics are in the midst of an intense Game 4, but that didn’t stop Robin Lopez from helping Jae Crowder tie his shoe:
Apparently having just one good foot is no problem for the Ottawa superstar. Erik Karlsson just finished an incredible series leading the Ottawa Senators past the favored Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2017 NHL playoffs. Now it turns out the feat was even more impressive than at first glance because Karlsson has been playing through multiple hairline fractures in his left foot, per ESPN’s Joe McDonald.
The Wild’s Mikael Granlund rounds out the trio. Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames, Vladimir Tarasenko of the St. Louis Blues, and Mikael Granlund of the Minnesota Wild are the NHL’s three finalists for the 2017 Lady Byng Trophy, the league announced Sunday.
George is 2-of-32 on game-tying or go-ahead shots with 15 seconds or fewer remaining. Paul George got on his teammate, C.J. Miles, after he did not give the ball back to the Pacers’ All-Star on the final possession of Indiana’s Game 1 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“Next question.” The Thunder found themselves down 3-1 to the Houston Rockets after a tough loss on Sunday at home. Once again, the Thunder struggled a bit when Westbrook went to the bench throughout the game. As accurate as that data may be, Westbrook was not interested in talking about it. In fact, he wouldn’t let Steven Adams talk about it, either.
This was absolutely bonkers. The NBA playoffs are supposed to be a display of some of the best basketball in the world and I honestly cannot tell you what was going on in the final seconds of Game 4 in the Rockets-Thunder series. The entire fourth quarter was strange but we went into another stratosphere with about 25 seconds left. Here is what went down:
The disrespect. During a stretch in the fourth quarter of Game 4, the Rockets decided to intentionally foul Andre Roberson. It was extremely effective. Roberson went 2-of-8 from the line during that stretch.
Oklahoma City blew a 14-point third-quarter lead to fall to 3-1 in its first-round series. One day after Kawhi Leonard and Mike Conley gave the basketball universe its best game of the season, James Harden and Russell Westbrook followed up with a Game 4 for the ages.
Washington goes for the sweep on Sunday night with Max Scherzer on the mound The Washington Nationals will try to complete a three-game weekend sweep of the New York Mets on ESPN ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ at Citi Field in New York on Sunday night.
The Senators win the series, 4-2. The Ottawa Senators are moving on to the second round of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs after forward Clarke MacArthur scored the game-winning goal against the Boston Bruins that makes him the hero.
Greatness. Sunday’s epic El Clásico ended in dramatic fashion. Real Madrid fell to FC Barcelona thanks to the dangerous left foot of Lionel Messi.
